Heywood Gallery Presents “New Inspirations”

On Saturday, July 11th from 4 – 7 pm the Heywood Gallery, 921 Main St., Waldoboro participates in ArtWalk Waldoboro with the opening of the exhibition “New Inspirations” featuring recent landscape and still life paintings by Anne Heywood. “The word ‘inspiration’ may bring to mind the old fashioned romanticized version of the artist as one who paints only when inspired,” says Heywood. “The title of this show, however, refers to the modern artist, one who paints on a regular basis, finds inspiration in daily life, local scenes and situations, and uses creativity to interpret that.” Heywood’s flagship painting for this show is aptly named “Carlo’s Inspiration” and depicts an imaginary above-the-cloud “skyscape”, a nod to her son’s love of aviation.

ArtWalk Waldoboro is an evening of fun art openings and related events taking place in the quaint village section of Waldoboro once each month from June to October.
