“Chasing the Light” exhibition at the Heywood Gallery
The Heywood Gallery, 921 Main St., Waldoboro is excited to host Ronald Wilson, award-winning landscape photographer, with the exhibition “Chasing the Light, from Quoddy Head to Cape Neddick”, from September 9th through the 11th, open 11 – 4 each day, and during ArtWalk Waldoboro on Saturday, September 10th from 4 – 7 pm.
“Light is the paintbrush that shapes the landscape,” says Wilson. One look at his work, and viewers can immediately visualize the full meaning of his statement: Wilson’s expansive scenes of Maine say it all. Many of his photographs are large, further adding to their visual impact.
A professional landscape photographer for nearly 40 years, Wilson has earned two Best of Show awards just this year, one from the renowned Photography Center of Cape Cod. A graduate from the Massachusetts College of Art with a degree in painting and from Tufts University with a degree in education, Wilson is also a popular workshop instructor. He will be on hand during “Chasing the Light” to meet visitors and discuss his work and photography process.
The Heywood Gallery is located in the historic “governors Mansion” in the heart of downtown Waldoboro Village and features the works of American realist Anne Heywood. Original paintings of modern and traditional landscapes, unique still lifes, and plein air studies, many of which were inspired by Waldoboro and its environs, are on view along with custom pet portrait samples, limited edition prints, and notecards.
