Impressing with Pastels Workshop

The South Shore Art Center, Ripley Road, Cohasset, MA is hosting Impressing with Pastels, a one-day workshop with artist Anne Heywood on Saturday, February 10th from 9:30 am – 4 pm. Explore the “drawing side” of pastels using pastel pencils and/or Nupastels and  impressing techniques. Making impressions in the paper surface can lend expressive qualities to a pastel drawing, such as relief-like effects and a white line outline to elements, or create a pattern or texture that can be easily reproduced. Whether you are a seasoned or a new pastel artist, you will enjoy this lightweight workshop that is “guaranteed” to bring out your creative side. Morning begins with a demonstration and hands-on exercises of techniques and their variations. Spend the balance of the day creating your own whimsical pieces. For students of any level.
