Traces of Summer at the Heywood Gallery
The Heywood Gallery, 921 Main St., Waldoboro is opening a new exhibition “Traces of Summer” for the September ArtWalk Waldoboro on September 14th from 4 – 7 pm. “Summer is my favorite season” explains Anne Heywood, American Realist and owner of the gallery. “Officially, summer doesn’t end until September 23rd but, look around — there are still plenty of signs of summer alive at this time of year. Seeing them makes me smile, brings to mind fun memories, and makes me realize that there are still more summer memories to be made.” In the “Traces of Summer” theme, the Gallery displays a painting of a slide on a float, another of two fishing poles at the back of a boat with the boat’s wake roiling behind, one of a large orange tube calmly floating in a blue lake, and others evoking the warmest season’s fun.
For September, in addition to Heywood’s works, the Heywood Gallery also features artist Alan Bunker’s semi-abstract oil paintings, extending his August show upon great demand. “Alan’s paintings are very popular since they capture great emotion, and fit right in with the last rays of summer. I do hope visitors will take advantage of this special showing to come by and see this exhibit before it leaves.”
The Heywood Gallery is located in the heart of Waldoboro Village and displays American Realist Anne Heywood’s paintings in a unique historic home setting. The Gallery is open the second Saturday of September and October for the ArtWalk Waldoboro, from 4 – 7 pm and upon chance or “no-obligation appointment”.
